Styling with Stencil - A Pantry Update
The Before
The walk-in pantry is a great design feature in our kitchen. The challenge was to keep it organized.
After I removed all of the pantry items, I painted the shelves in a wood tone hue to coordinate with the other wood tones in the main living space.
Why stop there? A stencil in a mosaic pattern makes a quick, easy and inexpensive way to add a pop of wow.
Baskets are a great way to organize ‘like’ items making it easy to find and retrieve.
Lazy susans come in a variety of sizes and designs. I especially like these because the trays are acrylic and fit perfectly on the narrow shelves.
The After
And the finale … decanting dry goods into glass jars not only looks great, it helps with inventory check.
The white mini garbage cans store miscellaneous items like dog food, and dog treats for our cock-a-poo, Louie.
Who doesn’t love a ‘walk-in’ kitchen pantry? The challenge? It can become a catch all for all ‘pantry’ items. And when you have an open-concept home, you can see it from not only the kitchen, but the dining and the main living space. So, it needs to be organized and pretty :)
To wallpaper or stencil? Hmmm ….
Stencils are such an easy and inexpensive way to bring life into a space. There are a variety of patterns available and it’s hard to argue the price point ($11.99 for package of several patterns). I chose this mosaic pattern which really adds a pop of wow - just what I wanted!
I then purchased some baskets, glass jars, spice jars and lazy susans to help organize the space.
And Voila! The space is now organized and I love how the mosaic tile-like-stencil gives it an unexpected pop.
